The Global Preferences Survey (80,000 people, 76 countries) found that Australia, the United States, and New Zealand ranked highest for general risk tolerance. The most risk-averse populations were found in Pakistan, Bangladesh, and many Eastern European nations. Wealthier countries tend to score higher — having a safety net makes risk more affordable.
