Yes. The US marriage rate fell from 9.8 per 1,000 people in 1990 to 6.1 in 2023 (6.3 in 2024, provisional). The share of US adults who are married fell from 72% in 1960 to about 50% today. Similar shifts to later and fewer marriages are seen across Europe and East Asia.
