Biology
How long is all the DNA in your body?
Each of your nucleated cells holds about 2 metres of DNA. Uncoiled and laid end to end, it would stretch roughly 10 billion km, from the Sun to Pluto and most of the way back.
Source: Sender, Fuchs & Milo (2016); 2 m DNA per diploid cell.
Context
Roughly 10 billion km, if the 2 metres of DNA in each nucleated cell were uncoiled and laid end to end. That is the distance from the Sun to Pluto and most of the way back.
The cell count comes from Sender, Fuchs and Milo's 2016 estimate. Red blood cells have no nucleus and no DNA, so they are left out of the sum.
