How many humans have ever lived?

~117 billion

History

The Population Reference Bureau estimates that about 117 billion people have been born since modern humans appeared, counting from around 190,000 BCE. With 8.2 billion alive in 2025, about 7% of everyone who ever lived is alive now. The estimate rests on assumed birth rates for the 99% of human history with no records, so treat it as an order of magnitude.
